It has been a great weekend despite the bizarre weather conditions.

Between a storm and a full-blast sun spell, the weekend has nearly gone. A few things have changed in NY and some are not so positive. I find shop assistants and taxi drivers much ruder than they used to be. Waiters are always friendly due to the tipping policy. Little Italy is shrinking at the expense of Chinatown, and most restaurants are now managed by non-Italians who put on an accent but do not understand and speak a word of Italian. It’s a bit fake, with big Little Italy souvenirs for Chinese people to sell. Well, I assume it is not all that bad. If they are no longer in a ghetto, it means that they have mixed with the rest of the people and are now fully American, while the Chinese are the new Italians, and for them, the integration will definitely be more difficult.

Anyhow, I met a friend from the University, and we are going somewhere in Massachusetts on Tuesday. We are driving there, and I changed my tickets from NY to Rome with some new ones from Boston to Rome.

Will keep you posted, now I must go to shit all the Italian-like food I ate: disgusting! I used to say that Little Italy was the only place outside of Italy where food tastes as good as in Italy. Forget it! It’s crap!
